NEMFA Festivals

NEMFA offers two major performance opportunities each year:

Solo and Ensemble Performance Adjudication Festival:
Students perform a full selection from our repertoire list and are adjudicated.  During the adjudication, students receive feedback on their performance and have the opportunity to ask questions. Scores and written feedback are available within a week of the adjudication performance. Though the general logistics of this festival are similar to an all-state audition, students do not perform scales or sight reading. Instead, students perform pieces from our repertoire lists which include standard repertoire on each instrument. Students may choose to bring a live or recorded accompanist if they choose

Concert Festival:
Students with qualifying scores are invited to participate in our concert festival
Similar to an all-state festival, this is a 3 day event where students stay overnight and rehearse with nationally renown conductors and top high school musicians from all of the New England States.
