Biography:  Robert Gattie, Co-coordinator for the Solo & Ensemble Festival, is in his thirtieth year as the choral director at Hartford High School in White River Junction, VT. His responsibilities include Concert Choir, Jazz Choir, Guitar, Music Theory, Music Technology and Theater Arts classes. His co-curricular music endeavors include Men’s A’cappella, the annual musical, and the annual variety show. He received his Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY and a Masters in Educational Administration from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. Rob is very active as a choral accompanist including playing twice for the MENC All-Eastern Honors Chorus, thirteen years for the NEMFA Chorus and twenty-three years for the Vermont Allstate Chorus. He performed for many years in a rock & roll band and currently plays as a freelance musician in the growing jazz scene in the greater Upper Valley Area of Vermont and New Hampshire. Rob is also the Girls Ice Hockey Assistant Coach and the JV Boys Lacrosse Coach at Hartford High School, and remains active as an ice hockey official and ref scheduler for a local youth hockey organization. His previous service to NEMFA includes four-year tenures each as Chorus Manager, President Elect, President, and Immediate Past-President. In VT Music District VI, Rob has hosted numerous festivals and served as both chorus manager and District Chairman. Under Rob’s direction, Hartford High School is pleased to host both the NEMFA northern Solo & Ensemble site and the Vermont Allstate Auditions southern site.
