Biography:  William E. Sittard is currently the Executive Director for the Connecticut Music Educators Association, a position he has held since August of 2001. He retired from the Chicopee, MA public schools in July of 2001 after teaching there for 34 years. For 28 of those he was the director of the Chicopee Comprehensive High School award winning band. During his teaching career he was an active member of MENC and the Massachusetts Music Educators Association having served in many official capacities at both the district and state levels. Bill also retired as First Sergeant of the 94th RSC Army Reserve Band in 2002 after over 30 years of service. He has been active with the New England Music Festival Association since 1964 and has served as Band Committee member, Band Manager and President. Bill was appointed as Executive Secretary-Treasurer in 1995, a position he still holds.
